Background Story
Val is in desperate need of a new home for her last couple of golden years.
Her owner had a fall and has had a hip fracture. She is in hospital with a fracture and unlikely to go home. She has a 13 year old pedigree labrador that originally came from the blind institute as a puppy.
Message from the owner(s):
My mum had a fall and has had a hip fracture. She is in hospital with a fracture and unlikely to go home. She has a 13 year old pedigree labrador that originally came from the blind institute as a puppy.
A bit complicated but she is with a lovely family in laingholm, their teenage son walked her for mum at the retirement village. The family took her and mum thought she would be adopted by them but circumstances changed and we are thankful for their help in the meantime.
We visited her on Saturday when they advised us they couldn't look after her much longer.
Val was at the Vets last Saturday and is generally healthy for her age. She does have arthritis which will require ongoing treatment and medications. She also has the beginnings of laryngeal issues with a bit of laboured breathing.
