Welcome to The Labrador Club
Aims/Mission Statement
About the Labrador Club.
The Labrador Club Inc. was established in 1965 and is one of the largest New Zealand breed clubs with an annual membership of approximately 200. We offer our members a varied programme of education, fun, and competitive events throughout the year. We also publish a club Bulletin four times annually. The Bulletin contains articles, both helpful and informative and we also encourage members to submit items for inclusion.
The club is governed by a committee of dedicated Labrador lovers. The committee is elected annually and are responsible for upholding the rules of the club as well as providing services to our members.
We usually run an event every couple of months. Events include Club Walks, Fun Days, First Aid for Dogs, Clicker training, Scent training, a Xmas Ribbon Parade, and our Premier Championship Show.
One of the benefits of attending Labrador Club events is to get advice on how to look after, train and socialise your Labrador. It is also an opportunity to meet other members and their dogs and have fun.
Walks
Our most frequently held, and most popular activities are the walks. The venues for these change and offers an opportunity for dogs to run off lead in many of the forestry areas and beaches, just outside Auckland.
Fun Days
These are games days – and are truly a lot of fun. This is where training pays off; dogs that are under control make “egg and spoon” races, musical sacks and dressing up, a lot easier, but what is lacking in finesse is very often made up for by enthusiasm.
Members are informed of upcoming events through the website, bulletin or an emailed flyer with all the relevant information.
